Today, we will explain which are the most popular markets related to football betting: 1X2, draw no bet, over / under...

Bookmakers offer a wide variety of betting markets in all sporting events, especially in football. The most common and popular football bets are fixed odds betting, also called 1X2 betting (Local - Draw - Away team) but online sports betting sites also give you many other options to place your bets. Before staking on 1X2, we recommend you to have an in-depth look at other markets' odds market. Find further below the top 5 of football betting markets.

Draw no bet

Players bet on the winner of the match (Team A or Team B) but if the match ends in a draw, bets are void. Let's say you want to bet on the match from Spain's La Liga, between Celta CF and Espanyol CF. Even if Celta is more likely to win, both teams are used to end the match in a tie. In this case, the "Draw no bet" option is a good one because if the match ends in a draw, the bet is canceled and you get your money back.

Over / Under

Goal line betting is a very common type of football bets, especially the Over / Under 2.5 goals. In the Over / Under market, the outcome depends on the total of goals scored by both teams, during the game. If you place a bet on "Over 2.5 goals", you'll win the bet in case there are 3 or more goals in the match. You'll lose it, though, if there are 2 or less goals. In case two offensive teams are facing each other, is a very good option to bet on 'Over X goals'. In case the match involves two defensive teams, it might be a good option to chose 'Under X goals'.

Double chance

This is also a very popular betting option in football. It covers two of the three possible outcomes in a football match: "Home Team Wins or Draw (1X)", "Draw or Visitor Team Wins (X2)" or "Home or visitor Team wins (12)". Maybe you are not sure what could happen in a match, so you go for two different outcomes and the risk is less. Obviously, odds for this kind of bets are way lower.

Both team to score

This market has only two possible outcomes: yes or no. If you pick 'Yes', each team must score at least one goal (minimum score 1-1). If you pick 'No', you win the bet if at least one team doesn't score. You should analyze the latest results of each team, the scoring opportunities in the last games and the list of injured players to make your choice. This is an ideal bet for those matches between teams with a strong offensive line.

Full-time correct score

This is also a very common type of football betting. Punters bet on a score line. They have to predict the exact correct score after 90 minutes, plus stoppage time (0-1, 2-0, 2-1...). You can find quite high odds.
